How to Live a Healthy Life

Strive for Progress not Perfection

The Goal: be kind to yourself, do your best, pivot when you need to, be as consistent as possible, and learn to understand what your body is telling you.

Health looks different on everyone, we are all individuals and our bodies have different needs based on our genetics, our preferences and our gut health. It’s important that we honor our needs and bodies and create a lifestyle that works for us, not someone else.

You wake up every day and have a choice, you can keep doing the same thing as yesterday or you can make small changes to move towards your goals. Choose small changes, this is progress.

Let me break it down for you…

Small Changes = Big Results!

Rome wasn’t built in a day and (spoiler alert) this whole health thing isn’t going to happen overnight. This isn't about quick fixes, fad diets or becoming a marathon runner overnight or maybe ever!  It’s about slowly incorporating healthier choices into your day to day life.  Over time these changes will become your new habits and you will feel good and be living your best life guilt free!

Speaking of Habits!

Most everything we do in life is out of habit, from the moment we get up and pour that coffee with our eyes closed to brushing our teeth right before bed.  The good news, YOU are in control of your habits and YOU get to choose what you do every day.  So put on your big kid pants and let’s create some new habits together!

Keep it simple!

Here’s the thing, as humans we tend to make things more complicated than they need to be. Eat more whole foods, move your body, be nice to yourself, repeat.

It’s NOT about Deprivation!

Flip the script people!  If your mindset is about what you CAN’T have then you are going to be extremely disappointed with life the majority of the time.  Let’s shift the narrative and talk about all the amazing things you GET to do for your body!

It’s all about Balance!

No one is perfect and you don’t need to be a hero.  Read that again.  Being healthy doesn’t mean you have to be perfect 100% of the time or that you’re a failure if you indulge in a meal or skip a workout.  It’s about doing your best to make the choices that make you feel good, leaving behind the guilt and starting over as many times as you need.
